What started with a simple family dosa recipe and just ₹50,000 has turned into a successful food business in Mumbai.
Ganesh Sathe was preparing for his CA exams when he decided to turn his mother’s special Benne Dosa recipe into a business. His sister Sapna joined him, and together they started with a small food cart.
The beginning was far from easy. With competition from momos, pizza and other popular street foods, their sales once dropped to just around ₹200 a day. The situation became so difficult that they even considered shutting the stall.
Their turning point came when they started sharing their food and business journey on social media. Their videos gradually attracted attention, bringing more customers to the stall.
The business eventually grew into The Benne, attracting hundreds of customers and becoming a much bigger venture.
Reports now put the business at around ₹40,000 in daily revenue, which is roughly ₹12 lakh a month.
The story is a reminder that a small idea, family support and persistence can sometimes turn a struggling food cart into a thriving business.
